Elandskloof Forelfees Trout Festival

20 - 22 August

Our 5th annual Fly Fishing Festival will be held on the weekend of 20- 22 August 2010, utilising 5 exclusive dams on the farm. 

Entry will be limited to 80 anglers on a first entry received basis, so send your completed entry form as soon as possible.

The format of the weekend will be as follows: 

• Registration and water draw on Saturday 21 August from 05:30. 
• Fishing will be split into four sessions and competitors will fish at each dam over the course of the competition,
• Saturday morning 06:00 – 09:00 and 09:30 – 12:30,
• Saturday afternoon 14:00 – 16:00 and 16:00 – 18:00.
• Dinner and prize giving will be held on the Saturday night from 19:00.

This event will be a fun weekend with competitive fishing but there will also be an element of fundraising for the old age home in Belfast.

Various prizes that will be handed out on the Saturday Night at dinner – Overall winner with heaviest fish, heaviest bag caught and most fish caught as well as various spot and other prizes for fun categories. 

The entry fee is R390 which includes: 

• Entry into the competition, early morning coffee, rusks & Old Brown sherry,
• snacks & softdrinks at the waters, brunch,
• 3 course buffet Prize giving dinner as well as a contribution to Belfast Old Age Home.

An event of this nature needs sponsors and donors to be a success. 
Elandskloof would appreciate any form of Sponsorship or donation of prizes, or goodies for the gift bags.

The Belfast Fly Fishing Association committee had spent endless hours preparing for their annual Fly Fishing Festival held on the weekend of the 26th and 27th September 2009.  The grass was mowed around the dams, weed was pulled, new braai's were built a new gateway graced the clubhouse area.  Best of all some incredible rainbow, golden and brown trout were stocked in the two dams to be used in the competition.

Its official - the Yellows at the Vaal are on fire!!  The lean winter is over and they are in full "spawn and feed" mode with good catches being recorded.
